Roxanne's Revenge | Vintage Vibin'

In the hip-hop age of the Nicki Mirage's, it is easy to lose sight of the rap pioneers of yesteryear. With the over-gimmicked hypes of today, the distraction from lyrical content to superficiality is bound to occur. Lip injections, butt implants, breast implants, exaggeration weaves, and outlandish outfits have become the norm. Instead of the showcasing of talents female emcees in hip-hop seem to be showcasing their ass-ets.  

Reminiscing about the good ole' days of hip-hop, Roxanne Shanté or as she exclaimed "The Real Roxanne" came to mind. Busting on the scene at 14 years old, Roxanne Shanté  left her mark on hip-hop world with her infamous diss response Roxanne's Revenge. Responding to  hip-hop's trio U.T.F.O's record Roxanne Roxanne, she climbed to fame and created  what is now known as  one of the first female rap battle. Claiming the title as the "Real Roxanne", she is one of  hip-hop first lady's and rightfully so!
